Following the relative success of his The Industry Album Vol. 1, DJ Jimmy Jatt has wasted not time before dropping a fresh single, ‘Feeling the Beat’. He invited the Starboy Wizkid to bless the track. As expected, Wizkid nailed it.
The first thing you’d observe about this song is the semblance it shares with ‘Ojuelegba’. The beat has a similar laid back feel, a situation you don’t want to present to Wizkid in the vocal booth. Surprisingly, while ‘Ojuelegba’ was cooked by Legendary Beatz, Jimmy Jatt recruited Del B to produce ‘Feeling the Beat’.
Secondly, Wizkid appears to be hung up on his success story as he relays how his music has covered the length the and breadth of the country and gone overseas. To me, that still echoes ‘Ojuelegba’. What more, he even found some space to slot in a couple of prayers like he did on his most recent big hit, ‘Ojuelegba’ that is.
One thing you can’t take away from Wizkid is that the end product of almost everything he does on the mic becomes so successful that whatever you say becomes irrelevant. ‘Feeling the Beat’ is another sure hit for Cool DJ Jimmy Jatt. Why? ‘Cos it Wizzy, duh.
