From the time she gave P’Square a crazy hook on ‘Do Me’, to her famous feature on the Intro of MI’s MI2 LP and her relatively successful ‘Words Aren’t Just Enough’ Album, Waje has remained a musical darling to many. Her unique style has made her a force to reckon with amongst her female contemporaries. Considering that she’s not dropped anything substantial of late, her fans will have to make do with ‘African Child’, a track that isn’t for everyone.
Yes, ‘African Child’ was basically composed to motivate and inspire African Children positively. It’s like a pledge, one that reminds me of the chorus of Nasir Jones’ ‘I Can’. I kinda like the fact that though Waje’s primary audience for the song are kids, the beat and melody could be found attractive by adults. I love the beat. I love Waje’s positivity as a singer. I love the track.
‘African Child’ was produced by E-Kelly, MI’s bosom buddy, and is one parents should download for their kids.
