Music Review: Timaya in ‘I Concur’ ft. Don Jazzy

Timaya is undoubtedly one of the best at what he does. He’s one of those few guys out there that can work with any kind of rhythm. He’s also more often than not a self-reliant guy on his songs. He however teams up with Don Jazzy on this one. Though I’m not much of a fan of Timaya but I rarely see him drop mediocre stuff. He maintains this rep in ‘I Concur’.

The song addresses the issue of love and contempt that come with stardom. I like the dimension Timaya brings into it. His idea is that as a star you learn to agree with the hype, love, hate, eulogies, contempt and all that come from the fans. Both verses from Timaya and Don Jazzy perfectly depict this theme.

The groovy melody was produced by Kilkertunes. I kinda like the fact that Don Jazzy didn’t get involved in the production beyond dropping his verse or what not. The same can be said of  his appearances on P’Square’s ‘Collabo’ produced by Oscar and Iyanya’s ‘Gift’ produced by Black Jersey.
